Shepherdian,
Greetings and well-
wishes from the
Good Shepherd
International
School. I would like
to address two
important things to
which I require your
immediate response.
The first thing is your
attendance at school
on 14th and 15th
October 2005. 14th
October is a Friday,
and 15th is
Saturday. Hence, I
feel that it should be
possible for most of
the shepherdians to
attend the Founder’s
Day Celebrations
and the AGM of the
OSA at 2.00 p.m. on
Saturday 15th and to
organize some
activities on 16th
which is a Sunday.
Therefore I request
your immediate
response on receipt
of this
communication
without any delay,
however important is
the assignment you
are in the midst of
right now.
The second thing is,
as soon as you
receive this
communication, get
hold of a good
camera, get your
family act together in
front of your
mansion or any nice
spot with the names
neatly written on a
post it label and send
that to me
immediately to
enable me to bring
out the second
edition of THE
FLOCK. I am not so
keen on your email
address. I WANT
YOUR LAND MAIL
ADDRESS with
phone numbers.
Your emails make
me think that I am
corresponding with
machines, not with
living human beings,
with flesh and blood.
Don’t skip over the
letters as you do
with some
advertisements in
the newspaper over
a cup of coffee.
Read and read
carefully each and
every written word,
of this letter I mean.
Comprehend and
understand
thoroughly what is
written herein and
respond exactly as I
want you to
respond. That way
you can reduce the
misery of editing a
Flock that feeds on
inedible, inaudible,
indigestible junk food
that includes
magazines and
journals, I haven’t
heard of and
therefore right now,
shake your heads,
hands and legs and
stop doing what you
are doing right now
(as you are reading)
and reply to me post
haste.
Another request, you
please pass on the
addresses of those
shepherdians who do
not know where they
are and whom I
don’t know where
they are. You may
know. None of us
can ever think of
departing from this
planet. Personally, I
don’t like to. Please
send all the details
that you know. So
that the second
edition of THE FLOCK
could be compiled
and published. The
slogan is ‘Hurry up’.
It’s time. I would
like to receive
dozens and dozens
of family
photographs with the
little ones’ profiles
prominently
pronounced than that
of yours. Apologies
and beg your
pardons in advance.
The last request.
Please write an
article, if you are still
in the habit of
wielding a pen or a
pencil; something
interesting, that
would go well with
the photograph, not
any one that would
remind me of your
English Compositions
of yesteryears, the
very thought of
which sends
palpitation through
my entire being. I
hope, and go a little
beyond hope and
hope against all odds
that would crowd
your mind by the
time you finish
reading the letter, or
when you decide to
read the letter
leisurely without any
insurgency from the
little ones, you can
be sure in your
own, ‘I had it’. To
conclude it’s so
wonderful to
remember, not what
you have become,
but for essentially
WHAT YOU ARE, the
inner man and
woman who seek to
be understood, and
loved
unconditionally.
